Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding the  psychotherapy services.

  

Yes!  Don't let geography limit your access to quality care.  Although the Georgia Mind Center is located in Conyers, Georgia, teletherapy provides access to people located throughout the state of Georgia and South Carolina.  If you are located in either of those two states, you are eligible to participate in telehealth services. 


  

The Georgia Mind Center is a solo private practice and does not offer psychiatry or psychological evaluation services. Dr. Davis is a psychotherapist and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (GA) and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (SC). The scope of services provided is limited to psychotherapy only (aka mental health talk therapy). 


Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services are short-term, employer-sponsored counseling sessions designed to support employees with personal or work-related concerns such as stress, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. EAP services are brief in nature and focused on problem-solving, stabilization, and short-term support. 


The number of sessions is determined by the employer’s EAP contract. Most programs provide a limited number of sessions per issue or per year. 


No. Services are limited to the number of sessions authorized through the EAP. Ongoing or long-term therapy is not provided within the EAP model. If additional support is needed, referral resources will be provided to support continuation of care. 


  • Step 1: Contact the Georgia Mind Center LLC  via phone or email to discuss scheduling an appointment.  Have your referral information available.
  • Step 2: If it is mutually agreed that the service available by Georgia Mind Center LLC can meet your needs, Dr. Davis will send you intake forms (including consent forms) that you will need to complete prior to the intake session . Intake sessions are approximately 50 minutes in length. 
  • Step 3: Schedule and attend your weekly counseling session.


If ongoing care is needed, a referral list of providers will be provided so that you can connect with a clinician who best fits your long-term needs. 


No.  The Georgia Mind Center LLC  practice does NOT accept or interact with insurance companies.  Dr. Davis does not accept insurance or private-pay clients outside of EAP-authorized services. 


Dr. Davis is only licensed in Georgia and South Carolina. Individuals residing in other locations (either temporarily or perrmananetly) are not eligible for the services. 


The Georgia Mind Center LLC is a solo private practice and does not provide crisis services. If you are in crisis or have an immediate mental health concern, contact one of the following numbers:

Trauma, Anxiety, and Grief Specialty Care

This practice provides short-term counseling services exclusively through Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).


Insurance is not accepted, and services are not continued under insurance following EAP sessions.


If you have been referred through an EAP, please contact the practice directly by phone or email to begin services. Scheduling depends on current availability and is reviewed after contact.
